How to Install an SSL Certificate on Your Domain With WebSocle

WebSocle provides a variety of SSL certificates, including Domain Validation (DV), Organization Validation (OV), and Extended Validation (EV), that you can install on your domain to secure your website. This guide explains how to order an SSL certificate, complete the correct validation process, download the issued certificate, and install it on your WebSocle‑cPanel server.

  1. Order an SSL Certificate from WebSocle

You can purchase an SSL certificate directly from the WebSocle website or from your client area.

Steps to Order an SSL Certificate

  1. Visit the WebSocle SSL Certificates page or access your WebSocle Client Area.
  2. Choose the SSL certificate you want and click ADD TO CART.
  3. Select the duration of your SSL service and click Continue.

Domain Selection

If the SSL certificate is for a domain you already own, select My domain name already exists, enter your domain, and click Use.

Provide Required Certificate Information

At this stage, you must provide the following:

  • Domain Name: Retype the domain for which the certificate will be issued.
  • CSR Code: Paste the CSR generated from your hosting server (see details here).
  • DCV Method: Choose your Domain Control Validation method.

Choose Your Domain Control Validation (DCV) Method

DCV is required for all SSL certificates, but the method you choose depends on the certificate type.

Available DCV Methods

  • Email Validation (Recommended for beginners).
  • DNS CNAME Validation (Add a CNAME record to your DNS zone).
  • HTTP File Upload Validation (Upload a validation file to .well-known/pki-validation/).

Validation Requirements by Certificate Type

Domain Validation (DV)

  • Requires only DCV (Email, DNS, or HTTP).
  • Issued quickly once DCV is completed.

Organization Validation (OV)

Requires DCV + business verification, including:

  • Legal business name
  • Business registration documents
  • Phone verification
  • Address verification

The Certificate Authority may contact you or request documents.

Extended Validation (EV)

Requires DCV + enhanced business verification, including:

  • Legal identity confirmation
  • Operational existence checks
  • Signed EV agreement forms
  • Possible phone call verification

EV certificates take longer to issue due to strict validation requirements.

Complete Your Domain Validation

After selecting your DCV method:

Email Validation

  • Click the verification link sent to the approved email.

DNS Validation

  • Add the CNAME record exactly as provided.
  • Wait for DNS propagation.

HTTP Validation

  • Upload the validation file to the correct directory.
  • Ensure the file is publicly accessible.

Additional Steps for OV and EV Certificates

If you ordered an OV or EV certificate, the Certificate Authority will request additional verification:

  • Business documents
  • Government registration
  • Phone verification
  • Signed EV forms (for EV certificates)

Your certificate will only be issued once all required validation steps are completed.

Download Your Issued SSL Certificate

After validation:

  1. Log in to your WebSocle Client Area.
  2. Click Products & Services.
  3. Locate the domain associated with the SSL certificate.
  4. Click Manage → Download Certificate.

You will receive a download containing:

  • The certificate file

  • Always generate your CSR on the same server where the certificate will be installed.
  • Never share your private key, WebSocle‑cPanel keeps it secure.
  • OV and EV certificates require additional business verification steps before issuance.
  • If you change your domain or hosting server, you must repeat this process.
