A domain name transfer process is a set of steps to follow to transfer a domain name from one register to another. Typically, transferring a domain name includes, among other things, unlocking the domain name, obtaining the EPP/Auth code, and initiating the transfer with the registrar.

Domain age generally refers to the length of time a domain is said to be active. Domain age can be determined by taking the difference between the date that domain was registered and the current date.

ICANN’s 60-Day Rule is a policy preventing a domain name to be transferred from a registrar to another for 60 days after its registration or any change in registrant information. This temporary restriction is in place to prevent a domain from being stolen or hijacked from its rightful owner by allowing the owner time to notice or correct any unauthorized changes. Therefore, that domain cannot be transferred to another registrar during this time.

There are several reasons why you may see your domain name transfer blocked: it could be due to fraud, dispute, pending payment, well-founded objection, etc.

Several factors can be considered when determining the duration of a domain name transfer from one registrar to another: domain extension, registry policies, registrar policies, and so on. Nevertheless, a complete domain name transfer typically takes from a dozen minutes to a week.
