Frequently Asked Questions

What is WHOIS?

WHOIS is the database where information about ICANN regulated domains including their registrar and registrant is recorded and stored, and which database can be accessed by anyone. You can look up information about a particular domain using our WHOIS page or ICANN domain lookup site.

What is domain privacy?

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, ICANN, requires that certain personal data of registrants who own and manage a domain name be made public through the WHOIS database. However, this is problematic because of scammers, fakes, etc., that are swarming the Internet, it is not advisable for domain registrants to make certain personal data about themselves public. Therefore, some registrars offer their clients Domain Privacy protection services that protect those personal data from unauthorized views.

Do you provide domain privacy protection?

Yes, we offer our client free Domain Privacy protection services. That said, you do not need to request such a service from us, it is automatic and available to manage through your client account; you benefit from it for all domains registered with us.

Can I change or modify my WHOIS information?

Yes, you can change or modify your WHOIS information in your client account. Additionally, at least once a year, as required by ICANN, you will receive an email asking you to update certain information related to your registered domain or WHOIS to keep it accurate and up to date.

What can I see or contact the owner of domain that is protected for privacy reasons?

To see or contact the owner of a domain whose information is protected for privacy reasons, you can still use the domain WHOIS record, as it contains a general address managed by the registrar or privacy service. Alternatively, you can search for the site published on that domain, as a website often has one or more page(s) where you can find relevant information about the owner of the site or domain.
